The Villa is a state-licensed community where residents enjoy private living accommodations and several amenities at no extra cost: housekeeping, laundry services, meals, and recreational activities and is a program of Catholic Charities Fort Wayne-South Bend with an "aging-in-place" philosophy. Mo...re than five decades ago, Villa was the home to the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration known as Our lady of Lourdes convent, the sisters were teachers to Bishop Luers High School across the street. In 1979, the building was converted for senior citizens. In 2001, eight bedrooms, low barrier or barrier-free showers for all the rooms, a dining room and a lounge were added; vestiges of the former convent remain.
