How long have you been in business?
We started out nonprofit in April 2014
What is your primary product or service?
We give clothes, pajamas, shoes, coats, new blankets and toys to children in foster care and children in need. We are also setting up a back to school program to give children in need new backpacks and school supplies.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
We have been foster parents for 14 years and we saw a need. Too many children don't have proper clothing.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Right now we are located out of our home. We are hoping to find a place this year. We have outgrown our home.
What type of payments do you accept?
We have a donate button on our web site so people can give using credit or debit cards. Checks can be made out to Fostering Hope for Children, Inc and mailed to 1025 Vance Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805 We are a 501c3 so your contributions are tax deductible.
Which areas do you service?
We are reaching out to the 9 Northeastern counties in Indiana. We service children from DCS Allen County and the surrounding counties, also private foster agencies, SCAN. Any child in need we won't turn away.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
My husband and I run the nonprofit. I, Juliette Smith, do the day to day operations and I have several ladies that volunteer to help sort and organize clothes.
What are your hours of operation?
We help any time we can. No set hours right now.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
That we are helping and making a difference to children in need.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
We have a scripture that is part of our logo and it is Jer. 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
